My name ist B\u00e4rbel H\u00f6hn, born in 1952, and I live in Oberhausen in the German state of North-Rhine-Westphalia. I am\u00a0Energy Commissioner for Africa of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) together with my colleague Josef G\u00f6ppel of the CSU since November 1, 2017.<\/p>\n

Before my current position, I was a state minister and member of the federal Parliament for over 20 years. Fighting climate change and protecting the environment were the prime reasons for me to get into politics in the 1980s.<\/p>\n
