My name ist Bärbel Höhn, born in 1952, and I live in Oberhausen in the German state of North-Rhine-Westphalia. I am Energy Commissioner for Africa of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) together with my colleague Josef Göppel of the CSU since November 1, 2017.
Before my current position, I was a state minister and member of the federal Parliament for over 20 years. Fighting climate change and protecting the environment were the prime reasons for me to get into politics in the 1980s.
